Comprised of over 1,400 members including orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, general surgeons, microsurgeons, hand therapists, nurses, and basic scientists, the Hand Association is an inclusive organization that welcomes individuals who are interested in joining the organization to fulfill its mission.

The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) provides a scientific outlet for presentation and publication of new ideas; to provide an opportunity for physicians to meet and exchange ideas regarding research, clinical problems, proposals for future progress in sports medicine and a high level publication controlled by the Society. This vision has been integrated into every area of AOSSM today.

National Football League Physician’s Society

Based on his responsibilities as a team physician for the Houston Texans, Dr. Hunt was invited to join this organization that is dedicated to furthering the health and safety of players in the National Football League.  They meet yearly at the NFL Combine for a comprehensive educational symposium.

For over 60 years, the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) has been the leading research society supporting engineers, orthopaedic surgeons, veterinarians, biologists, and clinicians in pursuit of a world without musculoskeletal limitations. The ORS continues to bring together the best researchers and surgeons in the world and gives them a community to share new research findings, discuss new ideas and to collaborate in new and innovative ways. Twentieth Century Orthopaedic Association

The Twentieth Century Orthopaedic Association is an exclusive organization composed of invited national leaders in orthopedic surgery. The organization was conceived in 1945 as a means for scientific exchange and friendships designed to contribute significantly to the professional and personal lives of its members. Dr. Hunt was inducted into this highly selective collection of master orthopaedic surgeons who meet twice yearly to share ideas related to orthopaedic surgery and the practice of medicine in general.

SEHS

The format for the Southeastern Hand Society (SEHS) meetings: frank discussion of controversial issues and techniques, and the presentation of problem areas and cases. These meetings are structured as ideal forums to present new ideas and techniques, to receive opinions from the group on the efficacy and soundness of these concepts.

The American College of Healthcare Executives is an international professional society of 40,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. ACHE’s mission is to advance its members and healthcare management excellence. Dr. Hunt is also active in the Physician Executive Forum, a group exclusively designed for physician leaders in management roles to enhance leadership skills and expertise for thriving in healthcare’s changing landscape.

As a member of the Hand Education Committee for AO Trauma, Dr. Hunt contributes to the development and execution of all hand and wrist education programs for AO throughout North America. These didactic and cadaver-based events are the most well known and most extensive educational programs dedicated to teaching clinicians safe and effective care for traumatic injuries impacting these anatomic regions.
