PIP Joint Pyrocarbon Implant Arthroplasty

This 59 yo patient presented complaining of severe pain, stiffness, and deformity involving his right ring finger which had worsened ever since his PIP joint fracture dislocation several years ago.  At presentation, he had no flexion at the PIP joint.

Based on his desire to gain some flexion and minimize the pain, he underwent a pyrocarbon implant arthroplasty of the PIP joint.
